Coffin Nail Ring, a handcrafted piece inspired by the coffin nail of folk magic, the nail that seals a thing shut. In Hoodoo, British folk practice and Caribbean rootwork, the coffin nail is a tool of closure. It's driven in once, on purpose, to end what needs ending. This ring is a talisman for anyone finished with a pattern that keeps repeating, or with a relationship that took more than it gave. There's no stone and no ornament. The sculptural form of the nail is the whole piece.

Each ring is hand-forged in solid sterling silver and wrapped around the finger in a tapered curve, sharp at one end and blunt at the other. 23.5K gold is applied by hand using Keum-boo, an ancient Korean gilding technique that bonds gold directly to silver through heat and pressure, with no adhesive or plating. Because every ring is worked by hand, no two are exactly alike.

The Coffin Nail Ring is made to order in your size, one at a time, in Brooklyn. In graveyard work the coffin nail is left behind as a ritual remnant, and in the harsher traditions it has been used to curse. It has never been a gentle object. This ring keeps that edge.
