Labradorite changes when you move it. Hold it one way — grey stone, nothing particular. Tilt it toward the light — and the interior ignites. Blue-green, gold, violet, a spectral flash that comes from within the mineral itself. This optical phenomenon is called labradorescence, and it was described before it was named by the Inuit people of Labrador, who believed the stone fell from the frozen fire of the Aurora Borealis.

The stone doesn't perform for everyone. It reveals itself to those who take the time to look for it — which makes it, of all the stones in this collection, the one most suited to those who already know how to find the light in what others overlook.

The Oculus collection takes its name from the eye — the aperture through which light enters, focus sharpens, and what was obscured becomes known. Each ring in this collection is designed as a scrying stone: something worn close, returned to often, a lens for the interior life.

Cast in sterling silver using the lost-wax method, then finished with 23K gold applied by hand through Keum-boo — an ancient Korean gilding technique that bonds gold directly to silver through heat and pressure, without adhesives or plating. The result is permanent, luminous, and built to outlast the occasion.
